Glen Eden Ski Area is located on the Niagara Escarpment in Milton, Ontario and was started in 1962 by a partnership of 3 men. This partnership rented the land from the Conservation Authority to build the ski area. At this time the Glen Eden Ski Area consisted of 1 building with a gravel floor and 3 tow-ropes to service the hills. In Glen Eden?s 3rd year of operation, the partnership decided to improve on some of the facilities. Improvements were made to the tow rope system by replacing one of the tow ropes with a T-Bar and improvement was also made to the facility by putting in a snowmaking system. With these improvements, financially, Glen Eden overextended itself and the facility was offered for sale to the Conservation Authority. So, in 1965 Conservation Halton bought Glen Eden with the stipulation that it would be self-supporting; therefore it would not receive financial help from taxpayers money. Since the purchase of the Glen Eden Ski Area, Conservation Halton has followed or exceeded the regulations of the Niagara Escarpment Commission when expanding or implementing any new improvements to the ski area. Conservation Halton will continue to update its facilities and equipment to achieve a better snow activity facility while protecting and enhancing the natural environment from lake to escarpment for present and future generations. | Vertical Drop: | 241 ft
