The BC Mountaineering Club recorded the first climb of Mount Seymour in 1908. In 1928, the Alpine Club decided to explore the unknown slopes of Seymour. The next year the club applied for a lease over 677 acres covering the main area. The depression years forced the club to drop its lease, but in 1935, the alpine club and other organizations pressed for a park reservation. In February 1936, Mount Seymour Provincial Park was established with a total of 677 acres. | Vertical Drop: | 1182 ft
