The skiing at Pontresina is spread out across five areas of varying size and difficulty. For the most part these areas are not interconnected, so it is necessary to use the regular bus service or drive from place to place. The Pontresina ski areas are:

• Languard, which is directly above the town and is served by a drag lift and a chair which rises to about 8,000 feet for a 1,265' vertical drop.
• Piz Lagalb, 10 km from Pontresina, with a cable car rising to 9,500 feet (2,896m). Piz Lagalb offers the most challenging terrain in the area.
• Bernina, a gentle slope close to Piz Lagalb served by a drag lift (900' vertical drop).
• Diavolezza, the base of which is about 1 km from Piz Lagalb. The Diavolezza cable car reaches 9,827 feet (2,973m), and from the top you can access a chair lift. The run down the Morteratsch Glacier (10 km) can be reached from the top of the cable car.
• Muottas Muragl, 2 km from Pontresina and served by a mountain railway and several drag lifts. As with Bernina, the terrain here is best for beginners and intermediates.
