Klosters
05 април 2007
Klosters, beloved of the British Royal family for many years, is a picturesque and historic village with well preserved buildings that has enchanted winter guests since 1904. Lift-linked to the large town of Davos and sharing a joint pass the village gives visitors the best of all worlds - old world charm, a cosy and traditional Alpine atmosphere and a large modern ski area on the doorstep. As with Davos, but on a smaller scale, the resort is in two parts - Klosters Platz, the larger, and Klosters Dorf.

Kloster?s own ski area of Madrisa is on sunny south facing slopes and best suited to intermediates or snowboarders heading for the fun obstacle park and boarder cross. It is reached by a cable car (aerial tram) from Dorf. The lift link over to Davos begins over the Gotschna mountain, accessed by another cable car (aerial tram), this one departing from the centre of Platz.

Off the slopes Klosters offers plenty of intimate and inviting bars and restaurants. The newly built sports centre has excellent facilities for ice skating while toboggan runs and sleigh rides are other favourite pastimes locally.
