There are other remarkable attractions in the area besides the skiing. Most amazing is the world's largest igloo, built in November every year at Jukkasjarvi out of clear blue ice, like glass, from the frozen Torne river. This 'Ice Hotel' is indeed made entirely of ice, and contains 120 'beds'. Inside the structure the temperature remains at a constant, "comfortable" minus four degrees celcius and you sleep in warm sleeping bags on reindeer skins on ice beds. You may also check out the cinema or experience the ultimate 'Scotch on the rocks' in the ice bar. Snowboarding MeccaEvery year in May, top snowboarders from all over the world get together in Riksgr?nsen to compete in the halfpipe, boardercross and quarterpipe. The snowboard camp in Riksgr?nsen has been a tradition since snowboard legend Craig Kelly discovered this snowboarders paradise under the midnight sun. Ever since his first visit in the early 90's, Riksgransen has been the place to be for snowboarders during the last few weeks of May. | Vertical Drop: | 1149 ft
