Klappen i Salen
Thursday, 05 April 2007
Quiet resort. Family friendly. Lots of Danes. Most people come for at least a week. We were four, mature adults, two couples, who rented a cabin(stugor) about 2.5 km from the slopes. Spend a week there. Self-catered vacation. Loved it! The UK couple had tried Andorra previous winter and said this was much more relax, friendly. Do note, it is a drive. 10 hours from Malmo, where we picked up our rental car. There is little to no night life outside of the pub at the end of the slopes.

We stopped in for an afterski drink, but never made it back in the evenings, to tired! We cooked all meals, packed a lunch. They provided warming rooms, which although crowded at lunch time, otherwise are good places to meet, leave shoes, extra clothing etc. Even my husband, who was dying to go to Italy and ski enjoyed himself. We all took lessons, 4 days x 1 1/2 hr.

We could of had more instruction, but what we had was good. This is not a place for the single person or those who need lots of afterski activities or guarantee sunshine dropped to minus 13 during the day, but average was minus 6 during the fourth week in 2002. But if you want calm, friendly, easy going, reasonable prices, low stress, fun for the entire family with young children, than Klappen is the place for you. We would do it again, although we are all adults with no children. Drive safe!
