Axamer Lizum, a major center for the Innsbruck Olympics of 1964 and 1976, suits all standards but there is no central resort, with most skiers staying in beautiful Innsbruck, although there is a four star slopeside hotel. The runs include The traditional and picturesque village of Axams, located on a sunny plateau above the valley, can be skied to directly from the slopes. There runs include a FIS womens downhill course and there is a lift link over to the neighboring areas of Birgitz, G?tzens, Grinzens, Mutters and Natters. Axams has good off-slope facilities for its size and is only 9km (6 miles) from Innsbruck. There is a sports center with a large indoor pool as well as a childrens pool and white water rapids slide. The facility also includes a sauna and solarium. Axamer Lizum is part of the Innsbruck Gletscher Ski Pass, which covers the lifts of Tulfes, Mutterer Alm, Igls and the Stubai glacier (open year round). An alternative option is to purchase a 4 or 5 day Innsbruck Super Ski Pass, which includes a day in the Kitzbuhel or Arlberg areas. | Vertical Drop: | 4798 ft
