Alpbach oozes Tyrolean charm and has been voted the most beautiful village in Austria. The village's 2500 year history has not been compromised by modern development, which includes an excellent indoor pool complex with water slide and plenty of other facilities such as paragliding and sleigh rides.
The local ski slopes of the Wiedersbergerhorn and the Reither Kogelbahn offers something for every level of skier. Inneralpbach, a quiet resort ideal for beginners, is linked to the skiing of Alpbach, 4km (2 miles) away.
Both Alpbach and Inneralpbach participate in the huge Kitzbuheler Alpen Ski Pass program. The pass covers about 30 resorts in the area, including famous names like Brixen im Thale, Ellmau, Fieberbrunn, Hopfgarten, Kitzbuhel itself and St Johann in Tyrol. Together they offer 680km (425 miles) of trails served by 260 lifts.
