Located in the bluffs along the Mississippi River in a geological region called the 'Driftless Area', the large hills in Western Wisconsin result from never being visited by the glaciers which bulldozed the rest of the Midwest.

Since 1959, Mt. La Crosse has offered some of the most interesting skiing and snowboarding terrain in the Midwest. The chalet offers food service, a complete ski shop, rental and repair shop, and a bar, all close to the slopes and handy to parking.
